Sexual Health Outreach and Engagement Coordinator; Black Communities

Contract: Full-Time
Salary: £28,000
Terms: Fixed-term contract until 31st September 2027, with possibility of extension for a further 2 years

Background: In partnership with CAHN, IRMO and Turning Point, Naz is delivering a new model of sexual health support throughout the three London boroughs. Naz has a particular expertise working with Black, Asian and Global Majority communities in London, and as part of this role you will be focused on developing and delivering a culturally competent sexual health promotion and STI/HIV prevention service to people from Black communities within the London boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham.

Aim: To develop and deliver a culturally competent sexual health promotion and STI/HIV prevention service to people from Black communities within the London boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham.
Due to this focus, the first role is only open to people who positively identify as having Black ethnicity, or dual/multiple heritage including this. (Exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1).

Background: In partnership with Turning Point and Spectra, Naz is delivering a new model of sexual health support throughout the three London boroughs. Naz has a particular expertise working with Black, Asian and Global Majority communities in London, and as part of this role you will be focused on developing and delivering a culturally competent sexual health promotion and STI/HIV prevention service to people from these communities within the London boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham.

Your work will include outreach with diverse groups of marginalised communities including sex workers, people experiencing homelessness, people with Learning Disabilities, and people with histories of substance use.
This role will focus on work with Black, Asian and Global Majority communities across the three boroughs. Digital Communications Intern (Volunteer)
​
Location: Hybrid (Remote/In-office)
Commitment: 1-2 days per week, Monday to Friday (flexible half-days available)
Duration: Minimum 3 months

Role Overview:
We're looking for a media-savvy, creative individual to join our team as a Digital Communications Intern. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about using their digital and content creation skills to drive positive social change. The role will involve creating and editing impactful visual content to articulate Naz’s messages, services, events, and campaigns across multiple platforms. You’ll gain experience in digital content production, social media management, and campaign strategy, while contributing to a meaningful cause.
Key Responsibilities:

Create engaging digital content, including graphics, memes, videos, and Instagram stories/reels to promote Naz’s services.

Design and write copy for flyers, posters, and other media assets.

Contribute to and coordinate our social media presence (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn).

Support the Senior Policy Officer in planning, developing, and executing awareness campaigns.

Stay informed on current news related to sexual health, mental health, LGBTQ+, and Black, Asian, and Global Majority issues to align content with relevant topics.

Ideal Candidate:

Creative and media-savvy with strong skills in content creation (graphic design, video editing, and social media management).

Familiar with digital tools and platforms (Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar).

Passionate about social issues, including sexual health, mental health, and LGBTQ+ advocacy.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
