Africa Rise is a new exciting online space for African Gay, Bi and other MSM (Men who have Sex with Men), developed by Yorkshire Mesmac and Naz Project London – two leading charities providing health services and resources for BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) communities.

The project is a national, online information hub carefully tailored to meet the needs of African MSM and healthcare professionals working with African MSM. Designed as a reliable and extensive source of information surrounding different areas of sexual health. Africa Rise helps to raise awareness of the benefits of HIV testing, treatment options and to reduce late diagnosis.

The aim of Africa Rise is to develop the country’s first online platform that will pool together a wide range of HIV and testing information, as well as personal support and legal advice, aimed at African MSM. Rather than work to develop a range of new health promotion resources, we are looking to find and promote information, materials, campaigns and services that already exist and bring them within one national, high-profile website.

Africa Rise will use film as a key component, enabling African MSM to share their experience, personal stories and concerns through video testimonials. In addition, the site gathers together all the current exciting culture (music, art, theatre, film, fashion), cultural events happening across the country of interest of African MSM. Africa Rise is the one stop shop to stay connected with fellow African men.
